著者紹介

サッチャー政権始め、これまでに数々の政権で大臣を務めた。財務省の元エコノミストで、英日関係を築くうえで中心的な役割を果たし、2001年に瑞宝章を受章。著書に『Look Where We’re Going』、『The Japan Affair』、『地球の呼吸はいつ止まるのか?』（共著・ウェッジ）など。

 The only minister to have served in the Heath, Thatcher and Cameron administrations, he has maintained a sustained engagement with UK foreign policy, energy security and the Commonwealth.

 A former Treasury economist, he chaired the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee for ten years and is regarded as one of the key architects of contemporary UK–Japan relations. He was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure by the Emperor of Japan in 2001.

 His publications include Look Where We’re Going and The Japan Affair, as well as co-authoring 地球の呼吸はいつ止まるのか?: エネルギー・環境連立方程式 (published by Wedge).
